Going back to the launch of Last Man Standing’09, the stage was set for 12 of the 
brightest management students from b-schools across the country to battle out for the ultimate challenge – the challenge to survive 48 hours of non-stop managerial ordeal. Those two days would put to test every aspect of their personalities and induce them to push their limits to the max.
The buzz about LMS was loud on the SIBM campus even before the event began. The colosseum was set up at the new campus built at a height of 2200 feet above sea level, on the breathtakingly beautiful hills of Lavale.
Last Man Standing, the mega event of Transcend’09 began with a lot of pomp and splendor. After short listing the best candidates out of a pool of resumes, we invited 12 finalists on our campus to fight it out for the final rounds.
From nerve wrenching management games to creative bathroom singing, 
from boardroom meetings to junkyard wars, from strategy plan pitches to painting faces, the participants went through one challenge after another, without the hope of any sleep during those 48 hours. Yes, it was grueling and stressful, but the energy levels never dipped.
The participants went through those 48 hours of grit, mindboggling mental and physical stress, but most of all – bonding with students from different campuses and walks of life. The feeling of bed fellows in the same misery brought them even closer. Towards the end, it was painful to let go of fellow participants.
But then, that is the rule of the game….there can be one and only one LAST MAN STANDING!!
PS: Last year’s winner was Mansha from SCMHRD Pune …. Yes, last year’s winner of Last Man Standing was a woman…!!
PS again: This year the event is for 72 hours and not 48 hours…!!
